ScriptFox13k: Line Up Shots and Keep Clear of the Ground
ScriptFox13k is a forward-facing space shooter over a scrolling polygon landscape. The ship moves across the screen while enemies arrive in formations ahead. Your first priorities are to line up shots, preserve altitude, and watch the health bar below the scene. A defeated enemy adds points, but you must survive the following formations to advance through a level.
Play ScriptFox13kStart a controlled flight
Click the game and press P to begin. Allow the opening audio preparation to finish before judging whether movement works. W and S move up and down; A and D move sideways. Use brief corrections while watching the ship rather than holding a direction until it reaches an edge. P pauses and resumes the flight when you need time to read the scene.
The visible landscape is a hazard, not decoration. Flying too low causes repeated ground damage. The game nudges the ship upward after a ground collision, but holding S can immediately push it back into danger. During this run, an extended low flight steadily drained the health bar and eventually produced the official death message. Keep clearance beneath the ship when tracking a low enemy.

Tap Space for each shot
Press and release Space to fire. Holding the key produces a shot without continuously rearming the weapon; release it before firing again. A short rhythmic tap gives each shot time to appear while keeping your other hand free for movement. In this run, repeated deliberate taps destroyed an enemy and raised the score to twenty.
Your shots travel forward through the scene. Align the ship horizontally and vertically with an enemy instead of expecting the cursor to aim the guns. Watch where the target is moving, make one correction, and fire again. Moving constantly can carry your gun line away from the target just as your next shot leaves.
- Find an enemy ahead and match its horizontal position.
- Adjust height while keeping space above the ground.
- Tap and release Space repeatedly until the target is destroyed or moves away.
- Reposition for the next target rather than firing from the same lane indefinitely.
Use rolls and shoot bonuses
Q and E roll the ship around its forward axis. Rolling does not create a freely aimed weapon, and there is no reason to treat a roll as an invulnerability move. It is especially relevant after obtaining double guns, because the two gun offsets rotate with the ship. Keep movement and firing alignment as the main tools for surviving an ordinary formation.
Bonus targets reward you when shot. They can provide double guns, stronger bullets, or fifty health, capped at the starting five hundred. Do not rely on colliding with a bonus as though it were a conventional pickup. When a bonus appears, line up and shoot it while you still have room to avoid the landscape. Level changes restore health and remove weapon enhancements.
Understand the end of a run
When health reaches zero, the game pauses and displays “You died! Press P to restart.” Press P to begin again: the score returns to zero, health is restored, and the opening level starts over. This run reached that formal defeat after scoring and testing the low-altitude hazard; it did not clear the complete first level.
Each level contains several formations. Clearing the current formation advances the wave, and clearing the level moves into another landscape. Later play can continue through generated levels, so think in terms of surviving a sequence and improving a run rather than expecting a single fixed final stage. Refreshing starts fresh; there is no saved campaign to resume.

Quick tips
- Release Space between shots.
- Correct altitude before chasing a target close to the terrain.
- Use P to pause; use Q and E for rolls, not for free aiming.
