Andromeda Invaders: Dodge Falling Rocks and Keep Your Pulse on Target

Andromeda Invaders is a horizontal survival shooter. Your craft travels along the bottom while enemy ships move overhead and drop rocks. Your pulse fires automatically, leaving you free to concentrate on position. Clear every ship to advance to the next level, or keep learning from a complete survival run when the descending formation overwhelms you.

Play Andromeda Invaders

Take control of the opening

Press Space or P to start. Move with Left and Right, or A and D. The pulse repeatedly travels upward without a separate fire button. Space or P also pauses and resumes an active game, while M toggles sound. On a touch screen, use the visible left and right controls.

Start deliberately rather than waiting on the opening screen: the game can begin an automatic demonstration after a short idle period. Once you start your own run, make a small sideways movement and watch the pulse line change with your craft.

  1. Press Space to begin your run.
  2. Move sideways under a ship while leaving room to escape a falling rock.
  3. Release the movement key briefly to keep the next pulse in a useful lane.

Balance aiming with an escape route

Enemy attacks are falling rocks. Your pulse can destroy a rock as well as damage a ship, but relying on an intercept is risky when a rock is already close to your craft. Look downward from the nearest threat before committing to a long horizontal sweep.

In the pictured run, repeated left and right movements damaged the formation and increased the score. Shorter corrections are a useful next step: wide, repetitive sweeps can carry you through several falling-rock lanes. Keep some empty space beside your craft so that the next dodge remains possible.

Read damage and use score to recover

Your craft begins with three health stages. Its color changes from bright green through darker green to a yellowish shade as it takes damage. A ship also changes color as it weakens, progressing from orange toward dark red before destruction. Finishing a damaged ship can be more useful than repeatedly changing targets.

Destroying a rock gives 1 point. Successive damaging hits on a ship award 10, 20, and 30 points. Earning 100 points since the last damage or recovery can restore one health stage, provided you are still alive. Enemy ships can also repair after dropping enough rocks, so leaving a damaged ship alone indefinitely loses progress.

Expect the formation to become more urgent

Level 1 begins with three ships, level 2 with six, and later levels with ten. Clearing the formation advances automatically. As fewer ships remain, the formation descends faster, making the last targets especially urgent. A ship colliding with your craft ends the run immediately.

The recorded run ended on level 1 at 50 points after the craft lost its remaining health. The frozen playfield keeps the final score and elapsed time visible; there is no large Game over panel covering the board. Use the disappearance of your craft and the stopped action as the cue to restart.

Restart through the information screen

Press Enter or E once to open the information screen, then press the same key again to reset. Press Space to start the new run. The reset returns you to level 1 with zero points and all three health stages. Enter during a live run also leaves that run, so avoid using it as a fire or pause key.

There is no saved current battle to resume after a refresh. Practice surviving the first formation with smaller movements.

Quick tips

  • The weapon fires automatically; movement is your main control.
  • Watch the lowest rocks before moving beneath a target.
  • Finish weakened ships before their recovery and faster descent become a problem.
